Eliran Ashraf

Eliran Ashraf is a Tel Aviv Israel / Geneva Switzerland based designer and stylist. B.A of design from Shenkar College Of Engineering And Design, Textile Design Faculty (2013).
Since 2005 working as a stylist and hosting textile and fashion workshops for youth and adults.

 

Fascinated by constant changes in urban structures and the advantages of mixed cultures, Ashraf's designs tend to look at urban structures as “emotional landscapes” with inspiring rhythms. These designs stretch between the bases of modern architecture geometric and asymmetric movements, shapes and emotions, colouring the grid lines. These creation methods exist as an attempt to reflect the human motifs in an ongoing industrial movement, grey cement walls and building patterns. I use industrial knitting, screen printing techniques, digital media, and hand made features, like hand dyeing and embroidery, often combined, to create  a cultural and fashionable message. 



In 2014 Ashraf founded the UNDER/CONSTRUCTION by Eliran Ashraf brand focusing on menswear- unisex clothing lines combining his biggest loves: fashion and architecture. I see our generation as seekers, we go back and forth, questioning our moves, exploring the advantages of global communication and daring to challenge our goals, religions and belief systems. I truely believe that no format is better than the other, tradition and ambition, material and spiritual. We go under and then, we reconstruct.
